I heart Kris Allen.

"But while the public gaped in awe at Lambert’s virtuosity, one quiet young man, week after week kept delivering performances that were a quiet way solid at worst, and often intensely beautiful. We never saw his audition video. We never saw his Green Mile sing-off. Nothing cued us to expect anything of Kris Allen. Indeed, every week he seemed almost to expect to be eliminated. But he stayed and little by little, while others’ virtuosity flowered, Kris Allen slowly came to embody the American Idol dream—the idea that a kid from the outskirts of nowhere could line up to sing a song, a few months later, if he stays true to who he is and where he came from—a world beyond his wildest dreams could be his." --Richard Rushfield

Many expected Adam Lambert to be Season 8's AI, but when Kris Allen's name was announced, even Lambert himself seemed surprised.

Honestly, I got surprised too, for I don't have any hopes that Kris would get enough votes from America. They were totally Lambertized, I must say. But who wouldn't? Lambert has talent. He is a prodigy. He has a wide ranged voice, to think that he can reach notes far from what I can actually pull off.

But exactly, that's it. Lambert is a star already. His star shines bright that no one haven't failed to notice its brightness. He is Californian, and he is exposed to all things Hollywood.

Because of this, Allen's star-in-the-making was being clouded over by Adam's. If we would look over Allen's background, where did he came from? Absolutely nothing. He came from Arkansas, miles away from the glamorous Hollywood. He lived a simple life, as a Christian pastor, married to the mother of his daughter, and like all of us maybe, he's just watching and following American Idol on TV, not expecting that one day, he would be standing on its stage.

Isn't that the sole reason for American Idol? To give that one opportunity to talented hopefuls who never had the chance to stand out because they were once just part of the crowd?

This goes the same with few AI victors--Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood and David Cook. They were just normal beings before AI, among the masses, among us.

I don't have anything against Lambert for I think he deserves the title too. But he has already a great future ahead of him, and I really do think Allen deserves the chance far greater than Lambert. He is worthy of the title. He has one hell of a talent. He can play instruments, and most of all, his simplicity and laid back aura blew me off. Totally.

For those people who swore not to watch AI again because of the latest season's results, I'm sorry for y'all. Period.
