Jose Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda does seem to be interesting to me back in high school, but I never thought I would be so much interested in studying his life and works.

I always believed he deserved to be our national hero. That claim wasn't really meant be changed. I knew it. From the moment I started reading Nilo Ocampo's amazing translation of Coates' Rizal: Makabayan at Martir, Rizal's life story got more and more... I don't know, how do you say 'nakakapukaw-pansin' in English? Hahaha. Not only on his Political agendas, Rizal actually inspired me to adjust my study habits and balance my time so that I can make my work more efficient. He had me awed by his langugae acquisition skills, and of course, his flowery tongue when it comes to courting girls. Yay! I might actually be the incarnated version of Osei San! Ahahahaha! But I do feel sad for him and Leonor Rivera, such tragic story of a love that is so real yet so forbidden.

Voila! Before I get too emotional here (because apparently the frayles' got to my nerves already, I swear! I tooooootally hate them!), I just want to take this opportunity to give homage to the pambansang kamao, Manny Pacquiao. Wow! That was one hell of a match. 2 ROUNDS, BABY 2 ROUNDS! I wonder if Hatton really prepared for this? Or maybe he was just dead drunk before facing Pacman, we can't really say. All I can say is that, Pacquiao is one lucky guy to be supported by Batista (Yey! Batista is Team Pacquiao!) and to be watched live by the likes of Mariah Carey, Matt Damon and Jay-Z? Wow. Such an honor to be a Filipino.

But of course, it was all Rizal's fault. His ideals struck me like thunder, now I can't really deny my nationalistic self. Hahahaha! Oh, Rizal, how I wish you were still alive!
